Rock Trivia for the day, Guess the Musician. Born in Mississippi, but lots of roots in Georgia, his first successful music endeavor was in the mid 60s, at age 17, writing a gospel music song that Elvis bought and recorded that paid him $90,000. He attended West GA College trying to avoid the draft. He then joined and got out of the army and started his own band, with their first hit song about smoking pot. He then became friends with and recorded with Alvin Lee, George Harrison and Ron Wood to name a few. He then briefly sang with Atlanta Rhythm Section on the album THIRD ANNUAL PIPE DREAM. His life is worthy of a book, with highs and lows. He went back and forth from Rock to Gospel music and made a fortune dealing pot to rock stars. Today he is a minister and leads a gospel quartet. Who is he?
