Rocksteady 200 57. Run For Cover – Lee “King” Perry & The Sensations (WIRL) 1966 Lee preferring to opt for “King” instead of ‘Scratch’ for this classic slice of rocksteady genius. It was recorded at Clifford Rae’s WIRL studios and was released on WIRL records in Jamaica and on Doctor Bird in the UK. The lyrics of the song were generally accepted as being an attack, albeit a playful one, on his previous boss Clement ‘Coxsone’ Dodd - as was The Upsetter – which we’ll here in a short while!
