Roger Webb: Preacher in the Wild >>>----> Arrows To The Heart© Daily Devotional A RAY OF HOPE FOR YOU! The atmosphere was conducive for the miraculous. At any given second the supernatural could take place. At the very same time a rather opposite spirit was present. Religious leaders were come together to critically listen to the teacher. Sitting on the edge of their seats, ready to bring any kind of accusation they can think of to destroy the integrity, character and even the life of Jesus. One can almost hear the rocks clanging together as they squirm around in their seats. They were grasping to find the right opportunity to stone the Master. Meanwhile Being paralyzed, ones life is totally depended upon others to help with daily routines that most take for granted. When you’re ready to be free but unable to get to where freedom can be found, that my friend is a gigantic disappointment and a sense of hopelessness that is overwhelming follows. Crowds had packed the house where Jesus was teaching. News travels fast when lives are being changed. The broken and down cast singing and shouting as the touch of Jesus sets them free is a sound that reaches far and wide and falls up ears of the needy sparking a ray of hope to their impossible situation. No doubt friends were sharing the good news with the man that was homebound about the miracles they have been witnessing. One must know the paralyzed man’s heart leaped within the man, as he was eagerly ready for his day to walk like everyone else. Four friends with a desire to take a buddy to get set free is a sight not seen much in the 21 century. Spirits were running high as they place the man on a stretcher and heading off to the meeting where the Son of God was teaching even though it started hours before. Their hearts must have sunk as they approached the house only to find it impossible to enter because of the size of the crowd. A determination to see their friend healed took over and a strategy kicked in. Today if someone were to get on the roof of a church and start tearing it up it would only take seconds before 911 would be called. But for Jesus the sounds he was hearing was not sounds of destruction but the sound of faith. Dirt and roofing materials falling down on Jesus must have been a sight to see. As the man was lowered into the very presence of the Christ, life-giving words flowed out of Jesus’ mouth as he saw faith in action like none other recorded in the Word of God. That day a cripple walked home a free man. Not only in his body but also in his soul and spirit in spite of those sitting around ready to catch Jesus doing something they did not like. Jesus combated the accusations with the power of God. To prove he had power to forgive sins he told the man to take up his bed and walk. Jesus goes far beyond the normal to demonstrate the love of His Father to the lost and hurting. As you read this message I too, am lowering you into the presence of Jesus with these words of hope and life. This day the power of God is reaching out to touch you. For some of you it has been years since a message like this has touched your heart. No matter what your condition there is a Loving God ready to set you free of your sins, sickness and disease. .
