Rohingya News Agency –(rvisiontv):Around 8PM on 18th November 2013, Rakhine terrorists led by some extremist faction of Buddist monks started destroying a Jameh Mosque, Religious School (Madraasa) and its Minaret at the quarter of Than-Ban-Chaung in Kyaukphyu Township. Till date, the minaret of the mosque was totally destroyed and parts of the mosque and the religious were also destroyed. The whole account is as mentioned below. “Rakhine terrorists led by some extremist monks started to destroy the Jameh Mosque and the religious school at the quarter of Than-Ban-Chaung in Kyaukphyu Township at 8PM today (i.e. on 18th November 2013). Initially, authority didn’t prevent the terrorists and the facist monks from destroying the mosque and madraasa. However, sometimes later (i.e. around 11:00PM), military arrived at the scene and prevented the situation from getting worse. Till date, the minaret of the mosque was totally destroyed and the mosque and the religious school were partially destroyed. And this was the sole mosque that remained undestroyed until tonight after the attacks on Muslims in October 2012. Besides, they said they were destroying the mosque reacting to OIC’s visit to Myanmar and trying to wipe out remaining trace of Muslim existence in the region. They also threatened that they would attack Muslims more. Most of the Kaman Muslims were forced to leave their home land during attacks in October 2013 and are currently living in the camps of Sin-Htet-Maw (Sandama) in Pauktaw township. There are only a few numbers of Muslims remained in the township.
