Loudoun County, VA – A Loudoun County Elementary School student was recently named the 2014 AAA Outstanding School Safety Patrol Award winner. Lejla Hot, a fifth grader at Rolling Ridge Elementary School, was one of 13 honorees in the Washington, DC, Metropolitan area. Lejla was recognized as she makes the right choices, is extremely dependable, and shows patience and determination when it comes to her school work and her duties as a safety patroller. “Lejla and all of the students who dedicated their time to this program ensured our children arrived and returned home from school safely,” said Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman. “These students play a key role in the mission of the School Safety Program,” Chapman added. The selection criteria for the 2014 AAA Outstanding School Safety Patrol Award include leadership, dependability, academics, promptness, and industriousness. Three nominees from Loudoun County schools were submitted to AAA this year. The Mid-Atlantic Foundation For Safety and Education’s Outstanding AAA School Safety Patrol Awards Program recognizes patrol members from the AAA Mid-Atlantic service area. Each honoree received a plaque recognizing his or her accomplishments and a gift card. ###
