Romans 13:1 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. NIV At first I would have paid to get out of Jury Duty. I was impressed with it all, and the professionalism of those that ran it. The verse above tells me that the Court System is an authority established by God. As I sat on a Federal Jury last week, I realized how real it all is as opposed to television. Although there was no rebelling against authority like criminal case, it still had costly consequences for the parties involved. The law had to be interpreted, and we were responsible for upholding it. I think we did a great job, and we got out of there quick. I pray for the one affected. May God help him prosper and find his way. Amen. May the Tide respect authority, listen, respect their coaches, train hard, and knock the snot-outa opposing teams. Roll That Tide!!!
