Romans 15:1-6 We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification. For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me. For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus: That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. As we look at this passage of scripture tonight, let us take a look at the first verse here. Paul says to let those of us that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak. Let us think about this for a few minutes. In Genesis 4:9 after Cain had killed his brother Abel, the Lord came to Cain and asked him where he was and Cain asked the Lord, Am I my brothers keeper? Hmm. Thats a good question. Am I my brothers keeper? We that are strong, we that are more mature in Jesus Christ, we that have reached a little deeper level in God, or that is a little closer to God than others should be there to help those that are weaker than we are. It seems that in the days that we live in that so many have quit focusing on helping others that are around us and are focusing more and more on our own selves. Remember Jesus told the parable of the sheep and the goats. He said that in the last days He would separate the sheep from the goats and say to the sheep that He was hungry and they gave Him meat. He was thirsty and they gave Him drink, He was naked and they clothed Him, He was sick or in prison and they visited Him. They said unto the Lord, When did we see you in any of these conditions? Jesus answered and said, In as much as you have done unto one of the least of these my brethren, you have done it unto me. This always makes me think about the story of the Good Samaritan that Jesus tells us about in Luke 10:30-36. In that parable Jesus tells us that a certain man was on a journey and was attacked and robbed by thieves. The man was left there by the thieves to die and along came a priest which seeing the man beaten and injured, crossed to the other side of the road and passed him by. Next comes a Levite, which remember the Levites were the priesthood tribe of the children of Israel and he passed the man by without helping him. So in a since two priest have passed this man by, but it was the Samaritan, the one that the Jews looked down on, the one that as we would say came from the other side of the tracks. He is the one that stopped and helped him. You know its a sad day when people can find more help and compassion from the world then they can find in the church!!!!!!!!!!!! We should be helping those that are weaker, we should be leading them and teaching them in the ways of the Lord!!!!!!!!!! We need to reaching out to those that are down doing everything that we can do to pull them out of the pits that they are in. We should be on our knees calling out to God on their behalf and seeking God to strengthen them. We should be standing in the gap for them. When satan is attacking them, we should be going to battle with them and for them. So am I my brothers keeper? In a sense, Yes I am!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jesus tells us that he that desires to be first shall be last, and he that will be last for Jesus sake shall be counted first. Jesus also tells us love others as we love ourselves. We need to rid ourselves of the selfishness and seek to please others first before we ourselves. This is something that I think that most all of us need to work on. Think about it, let those of us that are strong bear the infirmities of the weak!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GOD BLESS YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
