Romans 5:5 This hope does not disappoint us, for God has poured out his love into our hearts by means of the Holy Spirit, who is Gods gift to us. Sitting in the home of the Maxwells this morning, in that environment of grief there was an obvious sense of peace and hope. More than once, conversation drifted into thoughts of Kim, now healed and in the presence of her Lord. I witnessed parents, whose bodies were near exhaustion from this most recent season and struggle, but whose hearts were embraced with a sense of calm assurance. Hope does not remove all grief, but it is a counterbalance that keeps our souls strong during lifes toughest challenges. Driving home my thoughts drifted to those who do not have this hope in Christ. How tragic are those who live and die without the hope and peace that faith in Christ alone can bring. On Christ the solid rock I stand; all other ground is sinking sand; all other ground is sinking sand.
