Romans 8:1 NKJV [1] There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. John 3:17 NKJV [17] For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. Galatians 5:1 NKJV [1] Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. Psalm 34:22 NKJV [22] The LORD redeems the soul of His servants, And none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned. Ephesians 2:8-9 NKJV [8] For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, [9] not of works, lest anyone should boast. ~What does it mean to have freedom in Christ?~ I think a lot of times, we view God as sitting on His throne just waiting to slap us on the hand with a ruler when we mess up, and thats not how He intended for us to see Him. I think many people simply feel that they can never live up to His expectations, so they just give up. We all fall short. We all fail, but you see....the blood of Christ was shed for that purpose. He came to save the world, not point His ruler and shake His fist. We will never DO enough to be worthy of the blood shed on our behalf. We will never deserve the sacrifice He made. He did what He did because He knew without His blood, we would be hopeless. Because of Him, we can be free....but, how? How do we please Him? First we believe that the Bible is true. We put our faith and trust in the One who inspired every word. 2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. We take it for what it is...not adding to it, nor taking from it. It is already a perfect plan, and He didnt need our help in editing:) Dont assume that it doesnt apply to you today. It does! By grace we are saved through faith. Faith leads to obedience, and we obey not out of fear, but out of love. Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. It is important to understand that there is no one prayer that can save you, nor are we saved by water. Do I believe baptism is necessary? Absolutely. The scripture points that out, but my point is water alone is only cleansing your body. It takes faith and the Holy Spirit to cleanse the soul. 1 John 5:6 This is He who came by water and blood-Jesus Christ; not only by water, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth. God bless and happy Monday!!
