Romans 8:6 says, For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. We could make a number of applications to this particular scripture, however i want to zero in on one thing. Paul has said some amazing things in the book of Romans, as he pinned these words in verse 6. Paul said, That all was included under sin, because of what Adam did in the garden. No exceptions! Paul also said, That no one would be JUSTIFIED or made RIGHTEOUS through your performance, EVER. That is awesome!!! Paul says, That now we are married and in union with CHRIST. These are just a few of the wonderful things that he presents to us in the book of Romans. So to be carnally minded is thinking in line with the old Adam, rather than the new union we have with CHRIST. To be carnally minded is to think in line with the law to make us RIGHTEOUS. To have a performance mentality is carnal or fleshly. The law was a ministration of condemnation and DEATH. To have a spiritual mindset is having a mentality of union with CHRIST!!! Romans 8:8-11 says, So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are NOT in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwells in you. You did not accomplish this through your performance. JESUS accomplished this, through HIS performance. WE just accept this by faith!!! CHRIST IN YOU THE HOPE OF GLORY!!! This is LIFE and PEACE.
