Rome Marathon will be live streamed, by Alfons Juck, EME News ROME (ITA): The 20th Rome Marathon will take place on March 23 and is headlined by Ethiopian Meskerem Assefa (PB 2:25:17 in 2013) and Sisay Jisa (2:06:27, 2012), informs FIDAL. Assefa is the fastest on the women’s side and she started her 2014 campaign in style with a 2nd place finish in Houston in 2:25:59. Jisa hasn’t come close to his 2:06:27 best in his following three marathons; he clocked a best of 2:11:25 to win in Guangzhou in 2013. The women’s race will also feature Ayelu Lemma (2:32:10), the 18 year old Meseret Godana, who will make her marathon debut here; and the Italian hope, World championships 6th placer Emma Quaglia . Beyene Effa Seboka (2:12:57) and Bulii Adugna Bekele (2:12:37) look to be the main challengers to Jisa on the men’s side. There will be live streaming of the event, which will take a slightly different route to other years, on raisport.rai.
