Ronit Levi Talmi Dear friends , this story gave me a legend Ben Shmuel Givat Ada and requested Ive put it on Facebook. As someone who is married to a blind person , I can tell you that this is not an isolated incident but a real phenomenon . Please read and spread . Very important. *** Imagine someone would ask you to get rid of your eyes . What would you do ? My name is legend , son of Samuel , I am sixty years old and lives in Givat Ada . 15 years ago I became ill with juvenile diabetes caused severe damage to my vision . In the first months of the disease was very afraid to leave the house . Every time I went out , I lost orientation and I felt very safe . But my world changed drastically the day I got a guide dog . Thanks Shadow I am completely free and can be conducted in the world just like you . I tell him where I need to go - to the pharmacy , bank, trip , Naama , Yael, home - and it leads me there, bypass obstacles , warns against the dangers accompanied me everywhere . It has been four years in my eyes , and more than that is a close friend . A week ago I went back to her room arrangements locality where I live . I stood at the bus stop located in uninhabited and surrounded by fields - not a soul around, except for vehicles passing from time to time . I waited Line 35 of the lines that takes me to my home area . Frequency lines is very low , so I did my best not to miss this bus . A little after one oclock came and arrested a 35 in front of us . Shadow , my dog jumped happily up the stairs of the bus (he really love these trips ) . As I climb , I heard the screams from the driver : Get out ! Get out ! Im not going in your direction at all! . I tried to talk to him, explain , reassure , but he kept going - No. No! Come down here! - Threatened he would hit me , and then suddenly slammed his fist in the face of the dog. Shadow jumped out in panic - and I , with his leash in my hand , dragged him quickly out of the bus. I almost fell back on the asphalt , but at the last minute I managed to steady myself . In a moment I heard the bus m leaving , leaving me behind. Drivers shouted at me : Madam, move fast! What is middle of the road ? , Then I realized that the driver just left me out of traffic . Hit and run . I was very upset and very hurt . Between the tears , all I could say was : Its my bus . This is my bus . Fortunately, all this event saw a minibus driver who was passing by . He stopped to ask if I needed help , and then also drove me to the entrance of the house, so you do not have to wait for the next bus . This is not the first time Ive experienced so helpless . Every few months I have to deal with bus and taxi drivers who break the law and took me down to their vehicles because of a Seeing Eye dog . A few years ago a bus driver was not willing to go as long as I and the dog did not go down . After half the passengers shouted at me that I give up and go - I had to get off so they can reach their destination . Similar stories you will hear blind and visually impaired many . Since my vision deteriorated , I can see only large objects and distinguish between light and dark. But same time, I became more ability to look into the lives of the people around me . I write you these things only because I believe good - hearts of people. Just because I believe most of us can understand the others. Lend a hand. Help when needed . Not to ignore the needs and the variance of the others. Most people I meet in everyday life realize how important eye dogs for us , visually impaired and blind . I hope my personal story he could open his eyes a rest. Ronit Levi Talmi Dear friends , this story gave me a legend Ben Shmuel Givat Ada and requested Ive put it on Facebook.
