Roper, Plymouth, Creswell NC. To the family of Mother Mattie McCray. What can one say about a grand lady who lived 102 years, was there when many were born and when they died? What can one say about this grand lady whose mind was so sharp even in her older years it was astounding? We called her Aint Matt. She brought joy to anyone who knew her. If she had written a book it would have been a best seller. Her life story would be one as well. I personally will miss seeing and hearing of her attending events from birthday parties to the Peanut Festival to homegoings, yes homegoings I said. Rest well Aint Matt. Though we all will miss you we forever will carry your incredible zest for life and your priceless wisdom. You were our living angel and now that you rest we will always have the memory of your sweet sweet spirit in our hearts. McCray family, may God continue to bless you and thank you for sharing Aint Matt with us.
