Rosalina loves to play with my hair. When she was little (and even now) she loved to lay beside me in bed so she could caress her face with my hair. One Sunday when she was a toddler, I took her to the nursery in church and ended up sticking around to help for a bit. Rosalina was sitting on my knee, contended, but there was a little guy in the nursery who was crying because his Dad had just stepped out of the room. I hoisted him up and sat him on my other knee. His little face was puffy and red from crying and he was still whimpering. Rosalina sized up the situation and did the best thing she could think of: she took a strand of my hair and caressed his face with it! Im guessing she felt it was a comforting thing to her, so surely it would comfort him too! You know, 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 tells us that God comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others the way He has comforted us. No pain is wasted in Gods economy. If we allow God to soothe our hearts when we are having a hard time, he will allow us to soothe others when they are in the middle of heartache.
