Roscoe was born around March 6 of 2014. We got him from a neighbor - TopicsExpress

Roscoe was born around March 6 of 2014. We got him from a neighbor at our apartment complex. Whenever we got him he was malnourished.Apparently the previous owners (not my neighbors) killed the parents or tried to and was going to kill the puppies. So we stumbled upon Roscoe. Or maybe he was meant to find us. He started off loving to hangout with our friends and trying to play with his giant brother Hans and his other brother Moses and sister Duchess. Roscoe ended up having worms but we got that fixed with 3 treatments. He then ended up having a form of non contagious mange which I treated him for and gave him numerous baths for. We got all of those issues out of the way but he couldnt stay out of trouble.. We were walking on the trail one evening when he stepped on a bee or some form off stinger bug and had an allergic reaction. I thought that was the end of him because he was so swollen but he pulled through like a champ. Roscoe had many friends which included his brothers and sisters, Ivory, Gyzmo and Bailey (our neighbors), Braddick (another neighbord), Layla (even though she didnt want to be his friend), and then all of our friends who would come over and love him unconditionally. Roscoe enjoyed chasing the cats in the house until they began chasing him. At that point he would dash into the living room with the most funny expression on his face which said, MOM, Ive gotten into deep crap with these guys and they are going to get me. He loved to play with his brother Hans allllll the time until he recently got tired. And he LOVED to snip at dogs faces and growl and bark (playfully). About a month ago Roscoe got a dry nose along with a little bit of weight loss. He was still eating and still playing. I figured he was growing and the weather changing was making his nose dry. He then ate less and less so I changed his diet so he ate a little bit more. I began to get concerned so on Tuesday Nov. 11, 2014 we took him to see Dr. Pipes. The Dr. stated he believed it was Distemper due to the low red blood cells and the other symptoms we were seeing. He couldnt give us a exact diagnosis because theres no test for Distemper. Dr. Pipes gave us medicine and gave us ideas on how to stay hydrated and eating. Things didnt get better so on Friday Nov. 21, 2014 we took him back and we just changed up the medicine. I couldnt believe there was not a diagnosis for this so we took him to Club Hill Animal Clinic. They gave him bags of fluids, antibiotics, and other ideas on foods to feed to him. I had been giving him water and food through a syringe for about the past 4 days to a week and nothing was improving. Today his little face was twitching and his eyes looked like defeated and suffering. That along with the other issues we had been having only broke my heart more than what it had been from the past week. We were going to take Roscoe to Club Hill for another round of antibiotics to make him better but James and I had a talk. Roscoe was suffering more than he needed to and I understood what his eyes were telling me. He put up a very strong fight since he was born and this was one he could not win and I would not let him suffer. James and I said our goodbyes to our baby today. He went to sleep the most peaceful way possible and without further suffering. To the best dog in the world, say hi to Sassy, Jack, Lucy, and Bear. We loved you unconditionally and I am so sorry I couldnt win this for you. Roscoe Raney Siegel March 6, 2014- November 18, 2014. And to everyone who prayed and helped with our baby, thank you. Roscoe, James, and myself appreciate it.
