Rosealfa Mae (Fields) Bates, 81, of Stonewall, LA, formerly of Vincennes, passed away on November 25, 2013 at Willis Knighton medical Center on Shreveport, LA. Rose was born on December 7, 1931 in Knox County the daughter of Ollie and Marie (Nash) Fields. She married George Bates on December 19, 1951 and he preceded her in death on February 21, 1995. Rose was a member of the Indiana Presbyterian Church. She was a homemaker and also worked in the domestic department at K-Mart and also is sales at Wilsons Jewelry. She was involved in the Singles Club in Vincennes and was involved in a Bunko Club. Survivors include her daughters, Nancy Bates Wilson and her husband, William of Stonewall, LA; daughter Rose Ann Kiel and her husband David of Bossier City, LA; sons, Richard Bates of Ft. Collins, CO; Darrell Bates of Elberfeld, IN; life-long friend, Lois (Armpriester) Roberts of Lawrenceville, IL; ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Rose was preceded in death by her parents, husband, George Bates; daughter, Janet Moore, sister, Olive Brown; brother, Grant Fields; sister, Pauline Alberta Fields and half-sister, Estelle Fields. Funeral services for Rose will be held at 10:30 am, on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway with Ollie Fields officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with Rose’s family from 4:00-7:00 pm at the funeral home on Friday, November 29, 2013.
