Rosh Hashanah is in 2 weeks! Come by my office to get your blessing! We have an ancient saying where I come from. Everybody IS a blessing. And everybody NEEDS a blessing. Ok, so maybe I made the saying up today. Just for this posting. But it could have been an ancient blessing. You know, if someone had said it long ago. But I digress. The High Holidays draw near. The Book is open. And then it closes. Each one of us looks into the mirror and says Am I the person I was supposed to be? For some of us, it has been a hard year. Some have troubles in their marriage, they have separation or divorce. They wonder if this pain will ever end. Some of us are struggling with our illnesses. How helpless we feel against the bodys slow revolt! For some of us, the hardest struggle is with our parents, or with our children... Can a broken relationship be healed? Or is it just best to walk away? Whether you are struggling with one of these things.. Or maybe youre happy with where youre at. Maybe youre just grateful for all you have! Either way, with gratitude or pain, I invite you to stop by my office in September. I am there ,many weekdays or even evenings. I will make myself available just before or after Friday night services. No matter what the time, I will make time for you. Come by my office this month and let me give you a personal blessing. You can tell me of your triumphs, your hurts, your failings or successes. Everything is private and nothing goes beyond my walls. Calling or emailing first is best, so I make sure I am there when you need me. Come by my office to get your personal blessing for a new year. In the next six weeks, come by my office and let me bless you for a good and healthy year, in front of the open ark. Come by my office in the next few weeks. Let me bless you just as you, in a way, have blessed me and Madeline and our girls over the years. Come and sit with me a while. Everybody is a blessing. And as the holy days draw near, everybody needs a blessing, as well. Madeline, Shira, and Julia join me in wishing you a sweet and good year. Rabbi Steven Lebow
