Round 11 P.W. Shaddock Wrap Up: The thirds played away at Jack Barker Oval against sixth placed Cheltenham. Ricky Barnes won tool of the week, by stopping a certain goal on his own team’s goal line. He dropped a chest mark and the Yarras did not get a score from the play. Todd kicked the Yarras only goal for the game. SYFC’s best players were David “Hughesy” Bell, Kim “Jong-un” Bratzek, Michael Klomp, R-Mac, Tom “The Voice” O’Connor, and Richman. Cheltenham won convincingly, 17-18-120 to 1-2-8. Next week the thirds play Dandenong at Greaves Reserve. Last time they met, the Red Legs won by 25 points. Please contact Coach Dr Dre Leslie if you are available and want a game. The SYFC reserves played second placed Skye. Last time they met was round two when Skye walked away victors by 131 points. The best players were Anthony Denaro, Nick Presland, Rory Smeaton, Lucas Moorby and Josh Soares. Shane kicked two and Lucas contributed with one goal. Skye were too good again though; 3-7-25 to 23-16-154. The seniors played in front of the SYFC past players at the den against sixth placed Skye. Before the game, the Bombers had won five games this year, including beating SYFC in round two by 101 points. The home side’s goal kickers on the day were Cory Brady, Josh Gledhill, Shaheen Merchant, and Nick Pane. SYFC’s best were, Cory Brady, Paul McNamara, Tom Hanney and Josh Gledhill. The coach said in the post match press conference that he was happy with the effort from Adam Strelec and that it was good to see Cory Brady return to form. Skye had control all day. The final score was 4-8-32 to 30-24-204. Thank you to all those that attended the past players day and our successful auction / trivia night.
