Round 2 of PowerDrift - Norwegian Drift Series at Gardemoen - TopicsExpress

Round 2 of PowerDrift - Norwegian Drift Series at Gardemoen raceway is over. I went inn a bit too hard on one of the practice runs on Saturday and sent the car with front sliding sideways into the concrete barrier. That resulted in a bent shock tower, rails, bent lower control arm, cracked upper control arm, brake disk, bent inner and outer tie rods, wheel, windscreen and body parts. We managed to get a new upper control arm and tie rods (had to drive 2 hours for each part) right before qualifying. With a broken front wheel I had to drive with some rear wheels up front that really made changes to the steering lock. I had close to stock lock under qualifying but still managed to get a 14 place. On Sunday we had sorted the rest of the parts we needed and did get them on the car right before the top 16. I did go against Fredrik Myhre in his LS powered supra. With no practice before the runs I just had to go all inn and tried to do my best. Unfortunately I spun in the second rĂșn against him sending myself out of the competition. Altought we did not go on through I am very happy that we did get the car running again at all. Thanks a lot to all friends and family that drove around, sorted parts, wrenched and supported me. Without you guys I would never ever been back on the track again! See you next weekend at National Championship at Dokka!!!
