Round 5 of the aberdeen and district motocross club championships - TopicsExpress

Round 5 of the aberdeen and district motocross club championships were held at the superb rhynie mx track today. On arrival the farmer had been very busy last night and the track was back to mint condition. Mike and barry travelled home with owen and logan staying trackside. Overnight rain had not spoilt the track. First out was mike scott jnr in the clubman class. He picked up a lot of points towards the yearly championships saturday and was looking for more of the same. Race 1. Sitting 6th for most of this moto but with couple laps left he twisted that orange grip a bit more and powered home 3rd place. Race 2,. HOLESHOT time for mikey boy but only managed to hold the lead for a short period with riders getting past. Finished 3rd place. Race 3. Worst start of the day and again he hit the ground down bottom section letting 6 bikes past putting him back in 10th place but he puffed oot that chest and dug in and managed to pick off 4 riders. Finished 6th Baz Hendry competed in the vets today after giving all the clubmen riders a royal whooping yesterday.Unfortunately i dont get to see barrys racing as im in recovery mode flat oot in back o my van whilst he races..But steady days racing finishing 7th in the vets..welll done to ya. Next up it was the young loons fae kintore owen hendry and brother logan hendry. After yesterdays performance hopes were hight for the two affa quick young eens and today they never let us down. Everyone involved with these two are over the moon after todays racing. Race 1. bad start from owen but cracking start fae the captain. Owen soon powered through them all and took control at the front of the pack and never looked back taking the moto 1 win. And yet again logan and reece went at it lap after lap with the captain getting moto 1 win in the 65cc class. Race 2. HOLESHOT time from Owen Hendry and he was pulling away lap after lap when a timely mistake down bottom section let the 2nd place man past after opening up a good lead but the youngster was fuming with himself for making such a simple mistake and he soon reeled in the front man again passing him with 1 lap to go and winning moto 2. Logan Hendry again well up the pack had his nearest championship challenger not to far behind again..captain consistant dos what he does best and motored home with another fine win. Race 3. Excellent starts again from the lads and with owen out in front looking for moto 3 win BOOM a bloody burst front tyre after lap 1. Mx bikes are hard enough to control with inflated tyres but it gets a whole lot worse when they are flat but he continued on and still managed a 2nd place. Logan this racehad reece dawson just in front of him but a mistake with couple laps to go at corner before finish flag left hi grounde with a 85cc machine slamming into back of him. Nothing the 85cc pilot could do as they were in same rut and this what happens. But disaster struck for reece the very next corner when the bolt holding your rear shocker in gave way and the shocker rammed into back wheel meaning this race was over for the young man. Captain got his bike back up going and made it another win in moto 3. OWEN HENDRY RAN A 1-1-2 GIVING HIM 1ST PLACE OVERALL LOGAN HENDRY RAN A 1-1-1 GIVING HIM 1ST PLACE OVERALL MIKE SCOTT JNR RAN A 3-3-6 GIVING HIM 3RD PLACE OVERALL BAZ HENDRY HAD A 7TH OVERALL FOR THE DAY. No mx next week for us nice folks from kintore. Then its back to rhynie for the scottish nationals there. You want to see fast racing then this will be the place to be.
