Tyler Giguere | III Marine Expeditionary Force / Marine Corps Installations Pacific | Date Taken: 10/22/2014 Marines operate an M240B medium machine gun Oct. 22 during the Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company Basic Course on Camp Schwab. The M240B operates at a maximum rate of sustained fire of 100 rounds per minute, the rapid rate of fire is 200 rounds per minute, and the cyclic rate of fire is 650-950 rounds per minute. During rapid fire, the barrel should be changed every two minutes. The Marines trained to keep up their basic infantry skills and improve upon them.
