Route 59 Construction: Beginning Thursday, March 13, contractors are expected to temporarily close access to and from McDowell Road via Route 59 to perform watermain work associated with the Route 59 Expansion Project. Access to McDowell Road is anticipated to be closed for up to one week, pending weather and unforeseen circumstances, while work is performed. Local traffic on McDowell Road will be maintained using Bond Street. Ongoing utility and watermain work continues on the roadway project that began last August. Contractors are busy preparing the area for the next stage of construction that is expected to begin soon with the start of the spring construction season. The next phase will include more permanent lane closures throughout the corridor that will result in additional traffic delays and congestion.
