Rowland+Broughton are thrilled to receive LEED Certification for our Aspen studio remodel; recognized for compliance with USGBCs rating system---the green benchmark for the tenant improvement market! R+B architect, Brian Sipes, gives us insight on why the firm achieved LEED certification: 1) Location – reduced overall environmental impact by choosing a central location to retail stores, restaurants and transit line. 2) Water Use Reduction – uses 31% less water than an office built to code by using high-efficiency plumbing fixtures. 3) Energy Use Reduction – reduced overall lighting power by 17% by utilizing high-performance fixtures and controls. 4) FSC Wood - 61% of the wood used was sourced from forests managed by the standards of the Forest Stewardship Council. 5) Indoor Environment Quality – used low emission paints, finishes and adhesives. Utilized HVAC system and windows for fresh air. 6) Efficient Appliances – 100% of appliances and equipment are energy star rated. usgbc.org/
