Roxie - 449 days Roxie lived down the street from an elementary school. Every so often, Roxie would jump the fence and pay the kids a surprise visit. Now some would say thats adorable. Some may believe its cute, but when you are a full-fledged member of a bully-breed, there are those who dont think its so funny. Enter Roxie to Suncoast Animal League on July 27, 2013. Her beauty was attractive to many, but Roxie was not for everyone. Just when the right family seemed come along, something would happen to negate the adoption. In most cases, it was Roxie who would administer her big stamp of unapproved to the deal. So time marched on... By then, Roxie had amassed a large group of adoring fans, none bigger the Melissa and Michael, who also volunteer with the ASPCA and assist with behavior training of Pit Bulls when large fighting rings are busted. They would take Roxie home on sleep overs on a regular basis and the three became very close. One day, we thought we had the right home for Roxie and...finally Roxie agreed. The problem was waiting for Roxies potential new family to close on a new home. Melissa and Micheal took Roxie into their home as they waited for all the pieces of the puzzle to come together. A short time later, we found out that the deal for the house had fallen through and the potential family was not to be. But it turned out not to be the bad news we thought it would be. By now, Roxie was part of Melissa and Michaels family and so on Sunday, October 19th, 2014, 449 days from Roxies time of arrival at Suncoast Animal League, they made it official. Roxie was adopted, with HER stamp of approval, of course. 449 days! Thats a lot of time and effort. And a lot of love and dedication. Thanks to all who made this happen.
