Roy Franklin Walden 1939-2014 Roy Franklin Walden of La Vernia, Texas was born on April 12,1939 at the home of his parents Dowell and Alice (King) in Austin, Texas. He passed away in his home on March 21, 2014 with his family by his side at the age of 74. Before retiring in 2004 he spent most of his working years as an interior trip carpenter in and around the San Antonio area working for several area home builders. In his free time Roy enjoyed a lively game of golf. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. His parents and three brother Bill and Ben Walden of Austin and Dean Walden of Buda precede him in death. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Judith (Allman) Walden of La Vernia. His four sons; Lawrence Walden of La Vernia, Brian Walden of Pearl, Mississippi, Charles Walden and Garrett Walden both of La Vernia. He is also survived by two brothers Don Walden of Buda and Bob Walden of Belton. Roy also has left six grandchildren Daniel, Sarah, Coleby, Madison, Jacob and Sadie Walden all of La Vernia. Along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins also survive Roy. In lieu of traditional services the family will be meeting at Wittie’s BBQ in La Vernia on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. to celebrate Roy’s life and to share our memories and stories.
