Its populated by venal tossers on the pitch and quizling apologists on the telly and the wireless who are happy to reduce football to the level of crap afternoon soap opera. is there any other walk of life where the monosyllabic murmerings of a suedehead gnome like Mourinho would be picked apart and poured over for profundity and insight? Where a walking seed potato like Rooney can negotiate a gerzillion quid for his image rights?? and where the likes of Alan Shearer is used as anything other than a paperweight ?
