Roy Ngerng is complaining about being charged. I think its clear that Ngerng has been labelled whatever he has been labelled for justifiable reasons. For those who think that what they (he, Han and others) did was ok, I think it makes sense to ask whether something that is wrong for an individual to do is also wrong for a group of people to do, and what the corresponding severity is. For a dose of no integrity see: therealsingapore/content/roy-ngerng-i-have-been-labelled-criminal-just-speaking-out-hong-lim-park Lets look at what happened. Han-Ngerng-Cos actions at HLP, as actions of a group of people, can be fairly and with little contrivance be likened to an individual molesting another. Furthermore, not as a plausibly deniable one accidental brush on the bus instance, but more like a definitive three firm squeezes in succession instance. The analogy is fairly direct. Hangerng & gang engaged in unconsensual incursions of the physical space allocated to the YMCA event. It is fairly straightforward that unconsensual incursion of the physical space of another individual is molest (or worse). That they did it multiple times is directly akin to... well, multiple times. Corporate distress is, of course, akin to distress. Molest of the three++ firm squeezes variety is actually the closest analogy I see. (I wouldnt mind hearing alternatives, suitably explained.) So at least for me, them being charged with public nuisance with common intent seems fair. If we consider Ngerngs actions, immediate and less recent, its straightforward to conclude that he has a pathological inability to take responsibility for the things he does and a huge tendency towards moral evasion. Simply speaking, I would not recommend placing any trust in him.
