Roys Medical Update, Wednesday 4-2-2014 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ For the people who told me that I would be sore for a few days, from the defibrillator implant, you forgot to add something: Its going to hurt like hell for a few days, then it will be sore for a few days!! :-) I think that today Im beginning to turn the corner on the hurts like hell/its sore ratio. Probably a 50/50 ratio. I never lost my sense of humor, but now I feel good enough to at least convey that textually! When I look at my chest, in the mirror, it looks like I got into a night fight with a scorned woman and I didnt have a knife. Looks like she stabbed me in the chest with a 3 inch wide butch knife. Not a pretty sight. Ive got some news for my New World Order conspiracy theory followers: Ive got WiFi in my defibrillator! When the defibrillator rep told me that yesterday, I was all excited as I would now have a WiFi hotspot with me at all times and I could reduce my cellphone data plan and just hook my iPhone up to my defibrillator WiFi! The rep quickly dashed my hopes on that idea! :-) The rep waived a little wand at me, and my defibrillator seems to utter some little noise. I couldnt tell it if sounded like a donkey braying, an elephant trumpeting, or a tea pot steaming! :-) Im sure this thing has to have a GPS in it and has to meet the Obamacare mandate that all Americans have a microchip implanted in them! I guess Id better stop on the New World Order stuff, as I might began to scare the sane people reading this post! :-) My doc used super glue to glue me back together, rather than stitching, so that I wouldnt have a railroad track scare on my chest. Then he told me that I couldnt take a shower for a week as the water would cause the glue to melt away. My response was: You expect me to take a shower that often?? :-) The doc said I couldnt drive a car for 10 days. I thought, thats wont happen! But when I sat in my truck, I realized that the seat belt strap came right across my incision! So now, if you see an old man sitting in his truck, and not going anywhere, then you will know why! :-) There are a lot more DONTs, but Ill stop now as Im sure you are as tired of reading, as I am of typing! :-)
