Rs 500 crore is the estimated cost of the proposed Worlds largest Hindu temple in Bihar. Not a very good example being set by a state which with a lot of effort just recently came out of abject poverty. Now when the need of the hour is to take a giant leap forward, we want to go back in time. The temple boasts of being capable of accommodating 20000 people. 20000 people to do what? Pray? One can do that at home. Belief in God and religion are not really related. Organized religion was a good social bond at a time when scientific inquiry was at its infancy. Spending all that money on a temple just symbolises Indias collective medieval mindset. Im sure Bihar could have done something better with Rs 500 crore.
