Rt. Columbus Police Lieutenant Lynn Joiner April 20, 1955- September 20, 2013 Columbus, Ga- Rt. Columbus Police Lieutenant Lynn Joiner 58, of Columbus died Friday, September 20, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Cascade Hills Church with Dr. Bill Purvis officiating. The family will receive friends Monday September 23, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus. Lt. Joiner was born April 20, 1955 in Delnorte, Co. son of James Clayton and Elsie Lou Joiner of Micanopy, Fl. He retired September 01, 2013 after 37 years with the Columbus Police Department assigned to the Robbery/Homicide Division. He was a graduate of Columbus State University with a degree in Public Administration and a graduate of the Georgia Law Enforcement Command College. Lt. Joiner was a member of Cascade Hills Church and the Fraternal Order of Police. Survivors other than his parents include his wife Amy M. Joiner of Columbus, Ga., three daughters; Hillary, Ramsay and Lane, one son; Stephen; sister, Ramona Carney of Quitman, Ga., niece, Alayna Kay Carney of Quitman, Ga., cousin, Pam and Jerry Biggs and uncle, Ernie Biggs both of Colorado. In lieu of flowers, Lt. Joiner request donations be made to WBOJ "The Truth" PMB Broadcasting 1820 Wynnton Road Columbus, Georgia 31907 in memory of Heath Jackson.
