Rudy ~ short for Rudolph...was sitting in an animal control facility on Christmas eve. He was thought to have a dislocated hip. Puppy Rescue 911 was alerted to him, and as no one else had spoken up for this baby we did. We got him out on Christmas eve and after seeing his legs, we just hoped for the best. After a visit to the vet we learned Rudy was born this way, and there is nothing that can be done to correct it...so....we turned him loose to play with the other kids. What a wonderful surprise....RUDY CAN RUN! That boy took off running with his new little buddy Fernando and has not stopped. He uses his legs together rather than independently and hops on them. He runs, he wrestles and plays, he tries to potty like the big boys, but he cant lift his leg, so he squats, but when he is done he uses his front legs to kick grass like no one else! Rudy is the sweetest little boy you could ever imagine. He LOVES us, and every other dog he has come in contact with which is everything from a 5 lb Chihuahua to a 70 lb Shepherd. Rudy fits right in. He initiates play by hopping back and the dogs love him. Rudy has personality for days.....spunk....attitude...and the greatest disposition you could ever hope for. Rudy has no idea he is handicapped and after watching him run and play you forget he does too. I am SO thankful this little angel has come into my life. I am SO thankful I was alerted to him in the Animal Control shelter, and that I was able to get him out and have him spend Christmas with us. I am SO thankful to be able to do what I get to do. Rudy will be going to Naperville Dog Patch Pet and Feed next week where he will be neutered and fully vetted and then up for adoption. I will be enjoying this week watching this sweet boy loving life...running, playing, and even a little bit of snuggle time....okay, there may be a lot of snuggle time!!
