Rule Update: 5 minute penalty for anyone practising in Carrick - TopicsExpress

Rule Update: 5 minute penalty for anyone practising in Carrick from the 30th August to the 5th of September. So we have to implement a new rule for Carrick this year, this doesnt necessarily mean we will be implementing it for every race in the future. There are two major events taking place in Carrick this September, our Enduro and a DH race a few weeks later. Out of respect for local residents and other forest users we need to stick to the terms of our permit and enforce 1 day practice, 1 day racing. We have all had a good laugh out the running joke of snaking but the amount of practice coming up to each Enduro is getting a bit crazy, we need to think long term. A big positive from this will be a level playing field and fair racing for all riders. One day practice might be hard for people who work on Saturdays etc, but its just gotta be... Similar rules are already in place for other Enduro series so its not a new thing. We hope that this rule will be self policing and that everyone will respect the reasons for the rule. There will be a team of trail builders working on the hill from the 30th of August onwards who will report riders. If a rider is found practising, they will get a 5 minute penalty. You might ask who are we to tell people where to ride their bikes. If you are a local and ride there a couple of times a week, and are not taking part in the Enduro, thats cool, work away, none of our business! However if you plan on racing, there should be no argument. No walking trails, no excuses, just avoid Carrick for that period. #nosnaking
