Rules and Regulations: Theme: SCIENCE IN DAILY LIFE 1. ELIGIBILITY 1.1 The competition is open to the Citizens and Permanent Residents residing in Assam. 1.2 Images that have won prizes in prior competitions, or have been used for commercial purposes and/or been published will not be eligible. 2. SUBMISSION OF ENTRIES 2.1 Photographs of not more than 10 MB in size must be submitted online and the Organizers’ may request for higher resolution images subsequently. 2.2 Entries should be in JPEG format and image size 12 inch length x 18 inch width with 300 DPI 2.3 Each participant can submit up to three (3) entries. 2.4 Digital manipulation that distorts the reality of the photos and watermark will not be allowed. Only basic enhancements such as sharpening, contrast adjustment, or simple cropping will be allowed. 2.5 The Organizers’ reserve the right to reject entries with incomplete details. The submission deadline is 5th January, 2015, before 11.59pm. 2.6 All submitted materials are non-returnable. The file name for each photograph should be clearly labeled with the subject/theme title, participant’s name, Email Address, Contact No. and where the photograph was taken. E.g. Red-wattled Lapwing, Ranjan Borthakur, (ranjangauta@gmail, 9435539305), Morikolong Beel, Morigaon. 3. COPYRIGHT/INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY 3.1 Entries must be the original and unpublished work of the participant and copyright owner. 3.2 The Organizers’ reserve the right to reproduce any entry in print, broadcast and/or electronic media without requiring the permission of the participant and without any fee payment. However the photographer will be acknowledged. 3.3 Images received through the photography competition will not be used for commercial purposes. 4. PRIZES 1st: Rs. 3000 cash + Certificate of proficiency + Gift Hamper 2nd: Rs. 2000 cash + Certificate of proficiency + Gift Hamper 3rd: Rs. 1000 cash + Certificate of proficiency + Gift Hamper 4.1 Prizes are non-transferable and non-exchangeable for cash or in kind. 4.2 The Organizers’ reserve the right to modify the competition prizes and its rules and regulations as and when necessary, without prior notice. 4.3 The Organizers’ are not liable for any fault with any of the prizes and any issues should be referred to the Manufacturer/Supplier. 5. JUDGING AND RESULTS 5.1 The images will be selected by a panel of judges and their decision is final. No correspondence pertaining to the selection process and decision will be entertained. 5.2 The panel of judges will evaluate the entries based on the following criteria: - Artistic/visual appeal. - Extent to which the photograph captures the essence of the theme. 5.3 Entries will be judged based on originality, creativity and relevance to the theme. 5.4 The judging panel reserves the right not to award the prizes if the photographs submitted do not meet the requirements stated in this document. 5.5 Results of the competition will be announced during the course of the event, posted on the Photography Club of Morigaon Facebook page and winners will also be notified via email. 6. ACCEPTANCE OF RULES AND REGULATIONS 6.1 Submission of entries signifies acceptance of the rules and regulations of the competition. 6.2 While the Organizers will exercise due care during the collection, selection and storage of images, it shall not be held liable for any loss, theft or destruction of the images.
