Rumors and sporadic intel regarding Xiaomis next flagship have been building up over the last month, and as of recently, we have a pretty darn good explanation for that – the massively popular Chinese start-up will be unveiling its next high-end monster as soon as January 15th. As is typical with the industry, the closer we get to the official event, the more complete the rumorprofile of a device becomes, and today we score yet another unverifiable, but believable piece of the puzzle: Specs. According to eCommerce website Oppomart,the $599 Xiaomi Mi5 will tout a significantly larger display than all of its predecessors – a 5.7-incher with an extremely dense resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels (515 ppi). This puts the Mi5 in true phablet territory in terms of its physical footprint, with its dimensions reading 6.1 x 3.11 x 0.34 in (155 x 79 x 8.8 mm), which make it slightly larger than the 5.7-inch Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Under the hood, well be supposedly looking at a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor with four Krait 450 cores clocked at 2.7GHz and a powerful Adreno 420GPU. Like the Mi4 before it, the Mi5 is also listed having 3GB of LP-DDR3 RAM on board, which is plenty enough at this point, and a choice between 16GB and 64GB of eMMC 5.0 on-board flash storage. The rest of the revealed specs include a 16-megapixel rear camera with wide, f/1.8 lens, along with an 8-megapixel selfie snapper at the front. Lastly, the battery packed within is with a generous capacity of 3,600 mAh.If real, the only disappointment the Mi5 will offer is the continued lack of appropriate LTE-FDD bands for fans in the US, though folks in Europe and elsewhere would be able to make use of the super-fast radio. The fact that the Mi5 seems destined to skip on the newest Snapdragon 810 chipset can also be a problem for some,though that wouldnt at all be unlike Xiaomi. Thankfully, our experience shows that its handsets are always among the speediest on the market, so the omission of the SD810 shouldnt register as a big con. Source :PhoneArena
