Rumors of my death have been exaggerated. I did however have a very bad accident on the way home last night (short story: I was too close to the edge of the train platform and got clipped when it pulled into Rockville). I am sore, scared, embarrassed, and very very VERY grateful to be alive. There are no broken bones and my CT scan was clean. I have a very deep, very bad looking cut at the base of my index finger that will need to be taken care of by a hand surgeon, a very impressive lump on my very hard head, and a very painful bruise on my shoulder where I took the brunt of the impact. I was taken care of by an excellent trauma team at Suburban Hospital and ultimately sent home with some good painkillers and recommendations for follow up. And I am alive. And I will never stand so close to the edge of the platform again.
