Run Free Sweet Yoshi Boy... END THE PAIN That’s what most - TopicsExpress

Run Free Sweet Yoshi Boy... END THE PAIN That’s what most Corridor Rescue volunteers set out to do and it’s a big part of our Mission as an organization. And ending the pain and suffering is why other rescuers share that mission. It’s difficult to end the pain the way we would like to sometimes. Most of the time, rescuing a homeless injured animal off the street is a joyful thing. But sometimes that is not how it always goes. And that is the case with a dog named Yoshi. This is an overdue tribute to a dog named Yoshi. Yoshi suffered with degenerative back disease for a very long time in his home in the Corridor. His family did not have the funds to pay for a vet visit. Our rescue friend Valerie came across Yoshi and when she did knew he was in bad trouble. The family was willing to relinquish Yoshi to someone else’s care and Corridor Rescue stepped up to take Yoshi in and get this boy the much needed medical attention he had been deprived of for so long. Sadly, Yoshi was in far worse shape than we ever dreamed. He had 8 ruptured discs which meant he had 8 vertebrae touching each other. Many of us know what bone on bone feels like and can completely relate to the suffering Yoshi experienced for an extended period of time. Dogs must move. The move to eat, to find food to eat, to seek shelter and warmth, to save their companions, to find water, to get away from those that would harm them, and to keep on the move for many other reasons. Many spend too much time dodging cars. But Yoshi had a disease. He could have been helped if one or two discs were injured – surgery would have worked. But in his condition there was no hope. We gave careful consideration to everything the vets said whom we trust greatly and decided the only humane action was to let Yoshi pass on. The staff at Tracy Animal Hospital was so very kind and considerate. They love animals and especially ours and treat them so well. They were in tears too over sweet Yoshi. We don’t like to share bad news but feel we owe it to our followers and to dogs like Yoshi, to share their stories and bear witness to their lives and what they went through. Thank you.
