Running true to form, the First State has differing degrees of winter storm from end to end. Some areas have several inches of snow already, others, less now, but forecasts are still threatening more to come. One weather factor, end to end, is consistent: It is cold and going to get colder. Overnight temperatures in the single digits are predicted throughout the state. Pets and pipes deserve special attention. Pets should be kept inside if at all possible. An enclosed dog house or even a closed garage can be below freezing. A lighted bulb can provide some heat in a pet house that is well sheltered from wind. A lighted bulb and/or a slow drizzle may also prevent a pipe from freezing.
