Rush is the best race car drama since Days Of Thunder. It was exciting, emotional, and very well acted! There is a gritty reality to the look of the film that is timeless. It is set in 1975 when 2 or more drivers died on the track every year and there was a 20% chance of getting killed each race! I deals with the rivalry between two very different drivers, James and Nikki. James is a thrill seeker, womanizer, and pretty boy. Nikki is professional and serious and fearless. Something happens to Nikki on the track that profoundly changes everything. He is truly the hero of the story, overcoming obstacles that might destroy another person. It is a great and very inspiring true story that needed to be told. It shows both the danger, and excitement of race car driving. At the same time, it is a profound character study that gets beneath the surface of why people choose to risk their lives for a living!
