Russell Brand, Part Two! I went to a reading/book signing for - TopicsExpress

Russell Brand, Part Two! I went to a reading/book signing for Russells recent childrens book (published by Simon & Schuster) last night. It was a mob scene with an antsy crowd. Not to mention Russell arrived nearly 45 minutes late. We were told we were not allowed to take any photos with Russell (a friend tried to sneak a photo of me when I was talking to him, and a security guard threatened to take away her phone if she snapped the picture. Grrrr.) We were also told Russell would sign books ONLY--no t-shirts, hats, photos or any personal items. I was holding my photo of Russell reading the Yo Gabba Gabba book I had written, and the guard snapped at me, Russell is not going to sign that! I told him I just wanted to show it to him. (Truth.) As I got closer, I could see Russell glancing in my direction, as if he recognized me but was trying to place me. When it was finally my turn he said, Ello, Love! I smiled and said, So Russell, tell me again, who was it that gave you the idea to write childrens books? and I held up the photograph. He broke out in a huge grin and said, You brought photographic evidence! and grabbed the photo out of my hands. For one crazy minute I thought he was going to rip it up, but instead, despite all the hostile security guards, he signed it--Thank you, love me --Russell. Then he gave me a huge hug. I said, I cant believe a year ago I told you that you should write childrens books, and here we are a year later at your childrens book signing. Its so surreal. He said You manifested it--you made it happen! Then he signed the books I brought and gave me another hug. Then the security guard barked at me to keep the line moving so I had to go. As I was walking away, Russell said, I saw your friend a couple of weeks ago! I couldnt believe it--one of the girls who was with me when I met Russell last year DID see him a couple of weeks ago in London and told me about it. So out of the thousands of crazy fans he has he really remembered us. Unfortunately because of the crowd and the rush I didnt get a chance to talk to him about future book projects. But I know this book hes written is the first in a series, so hopefully I will get another chance down the road!!!
