According to “Gazprom’s” information, Ukraine owes Russia $4,458 bn for gas supplies, therefore the Russian side has decided to go ahead with the advance payments. “The decision was made because of “Naftogaz Ukrayini’s” chronic lack of payment. The outdated debt of the company for the supplied Russian gas constitutes $4,458 bn: $1,451 bn – for November-December of 2013 and 3,007 bn for April-May of 2014,” says the statement of the Russian company.
