Ryan Dent is one of the most influential DJ’s in South Africa. Having been in the scene for 18 years he is one of our DJ’s that has taken our local beats to an international level. He started mixing in early 1994 on inventive set-ups using twin amps and an array of music. He has owned his own nightclub “Club Soda”, released a number of dj mix compilations and produced his own tracks, which have seen international releases. Ryan has been privileged to open for Carl Cox, Deep Dish (Pharcyde), Fat Boy Slim, David Guetta, BasementJaxx, Paul Oakenfold, Rafael Noronha, Emerson Todd, Dinky & has been resident at every house club in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban. Commonly known as “The Dentist”, his raw energy & talent has taken him to Europe every year since 2001 to play alongside house legends Gene Farris, Derrick Carter & Tom Middleton from London to Paris, Amsterdam, Barcelona to Eindhoven. 2004 – 2005 Ryan performed all over Europe and Asia proving that his unique fat chunky bass lines and killer loops have given him the global appreciation he deserves playing alongside and respected by the likes of none other than Tiesto, Erick Morillo, Tom Novy and Timo Maas. Since 2006, Ryan has invested most of his time being an instrumental part in his band with inger/songwriter Tamara Dey and Craig Massiv. Their chart topping band, Flash Republic, have delivered 3 studio albums and a rack of singles including the monster hit Twister’ along with many other top 10 hits. Flash Republic have the respect of some of the dance world’s biggest-name remixes; among them Seamus Haji, StoneBridge, Thomas Gold, Prok & Fitch, Fonzerelli, Bellatrax and Henry John Morgan.
