Ryan & Max Cadman – Groundbreaking Brothers Two young members of our Academy have recently become the first ever brothers to both gain the rank of 1st Dan Black Belt in the martial art of British Free Fighting! Max Cadman, aged 12, recently passed his Black Belt grading with flying colours and joined his elder brother Ryan, who had passed the same exam a year earlier. Mum Amanda said “We are very proud of the commitment over a number of years that both our sons have invested to reach this stage, and also the support from all at the club especially Andy, Sharon and Sid.” “People are judged on much more than just their physical capability” says Andy Hopwood “it’s also about their strength of character, self belief and mental toughness. This is the first time in the history of this fighting system that two brothers have achieved this very high standard. I am incredibly proud of both Ryan and Max, they have trained with real commitment and desire in order to achieve their Black Belts.
