Résumé of Todays Message By Pst Sebastien Mwanza Topic : Jesus our Plan B Text : John 11 : 17-44 Just as a man cannot sacrifice his life for a woman whose heart he has not conquered, the sacrifice of Jesus by God in your life can only be effective if he has conquered your heart. Wherever Jesus is the Lord God does miracles. In todays text the Bible relate that Jesus showed up at Lazarus tomb four days after the latters death. Based on the natural decomposition process of a human body, we can safely say that Lazarus body had reached a very advanced stage where even his body cells came apart end were dead already. Back in those days, people already knew about the resurrection of the dead, adherents of the Pharisee sect believed in it and there were already many instances of people being brought back to life. So resurrection of the dead was a déja vu. Jesus purposely waited for four days because he wanted to do something out of the ordinary. He delayed his going to Bethany untill the body of Lazarus reached a decaying stage such that people, in their wildest imagination would never conceive that it was still possible he be brought back to life. He waited untill they had no more hope. In the verses 20 and 21 it is said that Martha, on hearing about the arrival of the Lord, went out to meet Him and said If you had been here, my brother would not have died. This implies that in a certain mesure her hopes were gone. We also happen to be in situations where people including our families, friends and even physicians and ourselves are left hopeless and believe that it is over for us. We reach stages of suffering where people start gossiping and bad-mouthing us. But the answer of Jesus to Martha(verse 23) was : your brother will rise again. The Christ went on by saying(Verse 25) I am the resurrection and the life. Beloved this statement is the fifth of the 7 instances in which Jesus reveals who He is, the seven I AM of the book of John. Previously in the gospel of the Apostle John Jesus had declared that he is the bread of life (John 6:35), the light (John 8:12), the door of the sheep(John 10:7), the sheperd(John 10:11) and now he tells us He is the resurrection and the life. In other word He is saying What I have composed can be decomposed and I can recompose it. Jesus is actually saying that He knows how he made it. Dear reader, maybe your situation has gone beyond hope. Beloved your life or that of your family may have already been buried; your business or Job may have been destroyed but Jesus is telling you today that nothing, with emphasis, NOTHING in your life can be destroyed without Him being able to reconstruct or bring back to life. Martha told Jesus I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who was to come into the world. She basically surrendered herself to the Lord. All Jesus want is you to allow your heart to be conquered by Him so that, like in the case of Lazarus and his family, something spectacular may happen in your life and the longer it will take to happen the more it will be extraordinary. Jesus retrieved Lazarus from the realm of the dead and today I assure you that He will extricate your life, business, job, family, marriage from the dead if only and only you let your heart be conquered by Him.
