SACRED TIME AND SPACE Time will always remain a constraint in life; Alice Bloch says we do not waste time, but that is not correct, we waste ourselves. Like the Chinese proverb “An inch of time is an inch of gold, but you can’t buy an inch of time or iota with an inch of gold Stya Paul stated we all want life to be immeasurable like the sky. This is impossible according to the Igbo song which says “We are all on a market trip to earth”whether we fill our baskets or not, once the time is up, we go home.In this attained stillness is the perpetual dance where the two worlds of life and death meet. In the Indic yaksha philosophy, verses compare earth as the pot; the sky is the covering lid, the sun as the fire and night as faggots – the seasons and months the stirring ladle.Time cooks all beings in experiences of past, present to contemplate the future. Another sutra describes time as the dewdrop dangling on top of a blade of grass which lasts but for a short time, even so the life of men. The thread of spirituality takes us on a journey across the bridge between past and future, above the river of time, into sacred space and time with graceful awareness beyond boundaries. –Vinay-
