Hymn of the first Woman or Slave; Sri Nanuk Ji Mahla Pehla explains and CIRCUMSTANTIAL EVIDENCE SHOWS AND CONFIRMS THE FOLLOWING: “The Lord’s slave is in the Lord, and the Lord is in His slave. Wherever I look, I see none other than the Lord. So make Him My Guru, who implants the Truth within you, who leads you to speak the Unspoken Speech, and who merges you in the Word of the Sabad. –-- The mind is in the body, and the True Lord is in the mind. Merging into the True Lord, one is absorbed into Truth. God’s servant bows at His feet. Meeting the True Guru, one meets with the Lord. He Himself watches over us, and He Himself makes us see. He is not pleased by stubborn-mindedness, nor by various religious robes. -- Reading and studying, one becomes confused, and suffers punishment. By great cleverness, one is consigned to coming and going in reincarnation. –- Further Described: “He worships stones, dwells at sacred shrines of pilgrimage and in the jungles, wanders, roams around and becomes a renunciate. But his mind is still filthy — how can he become pure? –---In the twinkling of an eye, he saves millions. Have mercy on me, O my Beloved, and let me meet the Guru. Unto whom, O God, should I praise You? Without You, there is no other at all. As it pleases You, keep me under Your Will. Nanak, with intuitive poise and natural love, sings Your Glorious Praises.” Those, within whom the Truth dwells, obtain the True Name; they speak only the Truth. The mind is impure until it receives instruction from a true religious teacher:--OTHERS; One class of people does not like the other. Those who want to know the truth please see below. Greater re-emphasis and focuses must be centred on the word GURU BHAGATI, AND HAR in the following Sabad. I select the following Sabad, Verse, as this provide particulars enough to enable the reader to form his own mind-picture of the environs of the famous Sants. Sri Nanak Ji, Mahla Pehla never misses and at every available opportunity to adore, admires and praises his beloved Satguru. As you have seen Nanuk in his own words. Nanuk Ji, never claimed to originate fresh doctrines; he merely recalled the people to truths which had been formerly Known and practised. In his own words, he was “DHADI.” Some historian explained, “Nanuk was an imitator, not an original thinker.” It is misleading to call Sri Nanuk Ji, Known as Mahla Pehla the founder of learner, disciple (Sikh) Religion, as he did not originate a new school of thought or set of teachings. His numerical succession of mahlas follows the order in which Nanuk, Angad, Amardas, Ramdas and Arjan Dev. All the sign, their songs with the same name, Nanak. They have been distinguished in the Guru Graath by giving each of them a number, going from 1 (Nanuk) to 5. These numbers re noted as mahla 1, mahla 2 and so forth Thus a song ascribed to mahla is by Nanak. One ascribed to mahla 2, by Angad and so on. Not Guru, but only Mahla Pehla, Duja, Teeja, Chautha, and Mahla Panjva, Recorded. The compositions of Nanuk are styled Mahla one, that is, the first ward; the compositions of Angad, Mahla the second ward, and so on. Each taken as models of life and devotion, each of them being virtually identified with Nanuk, Nanuk himself identify as Hymn of the first Woman or Slave. Literally interpreted, the Sanskrit terms Guru (derived from the Sanskrit root gri, to utter words), and Sishya—corrupted into disciples’ (Sikh)—meaning in Sanskrit one who is to be instructed, are merely correlatives like teacher and taught. The point on which they pride themselves is the prohibition of image-worship. Yet they make an idol of their own sacred book, worshipping it as truly as the Hindus do their idols, dressing it, decorating it, fanning it, putting it to bed at night, and treating it much in the same manner as the idols of Krishna are treated.” The truth we have already acknowledged is that it is almost impossible to get clear answer to this question. It is at this point that the question very difficult indeed to answer. The sacred word of Sri Guru Granth it seems holds no value at all. In the past and present, but it conveys its message in different way to different people communicating with someone on one level of perception and with others on a different level. It is foolish to imagine that the Holy Scripture, sacred word will speak at the same level and degree of understanding to the ordinary villager as opposed to the person who has devoted many years mediation. They have not added to their mental fibre; they have never really known what genuine study means; they have dreaded application, and since there is no other road to success, they have missed their way. The way we live, the way we think — everything is dedicated to material pleasure. We consider sense objects to be of utmost importance and materialistically devote ourselves to whatever makes us happy, famous or popular. Even though all this comes from our mind, we are so totally preoccupied by external objects that we never look within, we never question why we find them so interesting. As long as we exist, our mind is an inseparable part of us. As a result, we are always up and down. It is not our body that goes up and down, it’s our mind — this mind whose way of functioning we do not understand. Therefore, sometimes we have to examine ourselves — not just our body, but our mind. After all, it is our mind that is always telling us what to do. We have to know our own psychology, or, in religious terminology, perhaps, our inner nature. Anyway, no matter what we call it, we have to know our own mind. Why So Much Confusion?: They mix up facts with fiction in such a manner that it is often difficult to distinguish the one from the other. Under the circumstances, a question may arise as to how far they can be regarded as trustworthy. No doubt, the question is not without its difficulties. The world has a habit of much teaching and little practising. You may hear a lecture on sugar a hundred times, but you will not know its flavour until you have tasted it, neither can the glory of any true teaching be known except by practice. You have to live the teachings of the prophets and the great ones. Then their truths become your own, and you realize that truth is demonstrable, and universal. When you practise truth — whether you call yourself, Hindu, a Buddhist, or a Christian or disciple of any other religion. To be always truth full one must understand the difference between fact and truth. youre truth fully pointing out that a man is lame only hurts; it does not good. There fore one should not speak unpleasant facts unnecessarily. To tell a truth that would betray another person, and to no worthy purpose, is also wrong. one should not speak un-truth to avoid speaking truth, but rather remain silent. For the people to know unity they must also know the support that comes when people who speak another truth are respected for the perception as they would have been for agreeing with the majority in the past. The spiritual challenge of the future resides in being able to accept it before we know it. Sach, Truth, for all of life has been created to return you to you’re innermost truth, and it will do that if you will but allow life will open you to what is true inside you. , therefore bless life and everything in it. When you transfer into eternity you will leave everything else behind. All you’re taking with you is loving truth. The following Sabad explains how to return to innermost truth with the blessing of Bhagat Satguru. BREACH OF TRUST; THEY DISCRIMINATE, THEY HIDE FACT & TRUTH _____________________________________________ Scrutinizing Truth and falsity: Falsity consists in the privation of knowledge which inadequate, or mutilated and confused, ideas involve. Good and Evil It will be well here to consider the manner in which Religion and the teaching of Religion were generally viewed during the past centuries. Each person what is right in his own eyes, and whatever he / she was able to do with impunity appeared to him right. The disciples do not avowedly abandon the Hindu Codes of Law, which they had, from time immemorial, obeyed; but they felt contempt for Hinduism, with its restrictions and prejudices, and refused to follow its precepts whenever these were opposed to their immediate interests. Still, it cannot be said that students of Religion have always and to the fullest extent made it clear to themselves what is the real essence of a Religion. Too often expressions are used which are nothing but metaphors In many cases perfectly harmless metaphors, but in other cases metaphors that obscure the real facts of the matter. The vocabulary, too, was treated from the same point of view. With huge smile they deliver poisonous speeches, kathas, etc. They should stop delivering the daily diet of hatred; their breach of trust is open now. “DISHONESTY” It is known fact, they are annihilationist of truth. The disturbed individual who believe himself to be cut above the rest or to receive message from the masters is something cliché in our society. Born because of the karma of their past mistakes, they make more mistakes, and fall into mistakes. By washing, their pollution is not removed, even though they may wash hundreds of times. O Nanak, if God forgives, they are forgiven; otherwise, they are kicked and beaten. O Nanak, it is absurd to ask to be spared from pain by begging for comfort. Where you are bound to lose by speaking, there, you ought to remain silent. Page 149 Guru Granth Ji, Jithay bolan harye tithay changi chup. The relative truth must meanwhile be my beacon my shield. Surely Nanak ji Mohala Pehla Can’t be wrong for the simple reason because his own textual record must be regarded as authentic source of information The ‘House of Nanuk’ has been represented as Mahla by Arjan Ji. Thus, the contribution of Nanuk is identified as Mahla the verse of the Second Angad Ji, is identified as Mahla 2 as he is the second in succession to the House of Nanuk; the verse of the Third Amardas Ji, is identified as Mahla 3; and so on. Also known Nanuk as Mahla 1, Mahla 2, Mahla 3, and so on. Every book written regarding Sri Nanuk Ji, which says he was a founder of Disciple, Sikh Religion. Perhaps Sri Nanuk Ji, himself would modestly disclaimed the title of ‘founder.’ Sect, Sikh ‘The Disciples’ Religion. Nanuk, however, laid no claim to be the originator of a new religion. His teaching was mainly founded on that of his predecessors the relation of teacher and pupil in India has always been pious, sentimental, and sacramental. The relation of teacher and pupil is not weakened by time, nor cloyed by familiarity; the responsibility of the pupil towards the teacher holds through life. The interesting point for us in this intellectual gymnastics is the transition that it foreshadows to the views still popularly held. Surely no founder of Religion would use such words. Sri Nanak Ji Mahla Pehla Ji, never ever established a separate sect or religion? Instead he explains, “This world is likened to a terrible and stormy ocean which can only be traversed with difficulty, and in which man is ever liable to founder without spiritual guidance. The Guru supplies a boat for salvation.” In this connection I would request the curious reader to read further. According Sant Bhagat Satguru, Truth liberates. Those who love truth, those who are real seekers, inquirers, they will do everything to protect Truth. The world is against the truth, the world lives in lies. Lies are very comfortable, very secure, cosy, and you can create lies according to yourself, according to your needs. Truth is never according to you; you have to be according to the truth, and that is difficult For them the truth is just the opposite. Logic is blind; criticize it! And once you have learned the art of telling lies it becomes an addiction, because people start believing in you, you start becoming powerful. And then, if you can manage a few more things, your power will be immense. Heinous or wrongful act, esp. a crime utterly odious or wicked very heinous in itself, and very dreadful in its consequences, they committed unforgivable crime; it’s they who betrayed Sri Nanuk Ji. One may read all the books of the Vedas, the Bible, the Simritees and the Shaastras, but they will not bring liberation.” SATGURU RUVDAS AND THE FOUR VARANS ____________________________________________ Four Varans who flocked to his divine forecourt for his holy blessing i.e.Kshatriyas, Brahmins, Soodras and Vaisyas and Reverenced by the world. Brahmins, Kshatriyas and Vaisyas, these were the three twice-born orders, belonging to the Original Aryan stock, who had practically the same rights and privileges. The fourth Varn deprived same rights which he is regarded by the higher classes. The position which caste occupies in the early stages of Hinduism is comparatively insignificant, but from the time when Manu wrote his Laws down to the present age, the place which it fills is of the greatest possible importance. One fact is clear, that we must revise the current idea of the extreme antiquity of caste as we find it in existence. The caste, like the tribe, is a collection of families or groups of families bearing a common name. In the case of a tribe this common name does not indicate community of function. The Khatris and Brahmans called Namdev who loved God a calico-printer; But God turned His back on them and showed His face to Namdev. The sixty-eight places of pilgrimage yield the palm of victory to the worshippers and saints of God. May the slave Nanak through Gods mercy night and day touch their feet. Holy men are not led off in triumph by Death; they become insensibly blended with God. ”The glory of the Holy people is not known to the Vedas. They can describe only what they have heard. The God-conscious being cannot be described in words. The God-conscious being is the Lord and Master of all. Kavir, Death will not disgrace mine understanding since I have repeated the name of the Cherisher who created him. They are the only divine and holy: “All bows in reverence to Him. No one asks about their ancestry and social status; instead, they yearn for the dust of their feet. O Lord Master, such is Your Name. In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, Nanak has obtained understanding; singing the Kirtan of the Lords Praises is his only support. Namdev, Trilochan, Kavir and Ruvdas Chamar have been liberated attained Salvation and became Immortal.” On behalf of Mahla Phelam Mahla Panjva Ji, explains: “Saints themselves chants and inspires others to chant the Naam the Name of the Lord. My mind is filled with the Mantra of the Holy Saints, and I have risen above the three qualities Gazing upon the Blessed Vision, the Darshan of Bhagat, Satguru, my eyes are filled with love. I am a sacrifice to that occasion. Twenty-four hours a day, those meditate in remembrance on their God; by great good fortune, they have found the Lord. Kavir is merciful the slave of the Lord’s slaves; the humble barber Sain is supreme. Highest of the high is Namdev, who looked upon all alike; Ruvdas became Thakur the embodiment, Manifestation of God. My soul, body and wealth belong to the Saints; my mind longs for the dust of the Saints. And by the radiant Grace of the Saints, all my doubts have been erased. Here we have ample evidence conveyed to us such knowledge that we were able to present and supports the real truth to higher and higher cultural levels and levels of individual self-awarene. Thereafter, one does not die, and does not come and go in reincarnation. ਠਾਕੁਰ ਮਹਿ ਦਾਸੁ ਦਾਸ ਮਹਿ ਸੋਇ ॥ਜਹ ਦੇਖਾ ਤਹ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥੧॥ ठाकुर महि दासु दास महि सोइ ॥जह देखा तह अवरु न कोइ ॥१॥ The Lords slave is in the Lord, and the Lord is in His slave. Without meeting the Guru, they die, and come and go in reincarnation. ||1||Pause|| ਸੋ ਗੁਰੁ ਕਰਉ ਜਿ ਸਾਚੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਵੈ ॥ਅਕਥੁ ਕਥਾਵੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ॥ सो गुरु करउ जि साचु द्रिड़ावै ॥ अकथु कथावै सबदि मिलावै ॥ So make Him your Guru, who implants the Truth within you, who leads you to speak the Unspoken Speech, and who merges you in the Word of the Shabad. ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਲੋਗ ਅਵਰ ਨਹੀ ਕਾਰਾ ॥ਸਾਚਉ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਸਾਚੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ॥੨॥ हरि के लोग अवर नही कारा ॥ साचउ ठाकुरु साचु पिआरा ॥२॥ Gods people have no other work to do; they love the True Lord and Master, and they love the Truth. ||2|| ਤਨ ਮਹਿ ਮਨੂਆ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਸਾਚਾ ॥ਸੋ ਸਾਚਾ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਚੇ ਰਾਚਾ ॥ तन महि मनूआ मन महि साचा ॥ सो साचा मिलि साचे राचा ॥ The mind is in the body, and the True Lord is in the mind. Merging into the True Lord, one is absorbed into Truth. ਸੇਵਕੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਲਾਗੈ ਪਾਇ ॥ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਮਿਲੈ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥੩॥ सवकु प्रभ कै लागै पाइ ॥सतिगुरु पूरा मिलै मिलाइ ॥३॥ Gods servant bows at His feet. Meeting the True Guru, one meets with the Lord. ||3|| ਆਪਿ ਦਿਖਾਵੈ ਆਪੇ ਦੇਖੈ ॥ਹਠਿ ਨ ਪਤੀਜੈ ਨਾ ਬਹੁ ਭੇਖੈ ॥ आपि दिखावै आपे देखै ॥ हठि न पतीजै ना बहु भेखै ॥ He Himself watches over us, and He Himself makes us see . He is not pleased by stubborn-mindedness, nor by various religious robes. ਘੜਿ ਭਾਡੇ ਜਿਨਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਮਨੁ ਪਤੀਆਇਆ ॥੪॥ घड़ि भाडे जिनि अम्रितु पाइआ ॥ प्रेम भगति प्रभि मनु पतीआइआ ॥४॥ He fashioned the body-vessels, and infused the Ambrosial Nectar into them; Gods Mind is pleased only by loving devotional worship. ||4|| ਪੜਿ ਪੜਿ ਭੂਲਹਿ ਚੋਟਾ ਖਾਹਿ ॥ਬਹੁਤੁ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਆਵਹਿ ਜਾਹਿ ॥ पड़ि पड़ि भूलहि चोटा खाहि ॥ बहुतु सिआणप आवहि जाहि ॥ Reading and studying, one becomes confused, and suffers punishment. By great cleverness, one is consigned to coming and going in reincarnation. ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੈ ਭਉ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਖਾਇ ॥ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸੇਵਕ ਰਹੇ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੫॥ नामु जपै भउ भोजनु खाइ ॥गुरमुखि सेवक रहे समाइ ॥५॥ One who chants the Naam, the Name of the Lord, and eats the food of the Fear of God becomes Gurmukh, the Lords servant, and remains absorbed in the Lord. ||5|| ਪੂਜਿ ਸਿਲਾ ਤੀਰਥ ਬਨ ਵਾਸਾ ॥ਭਰਮਤ ਡੋਲਤ ਭਏ ਉਦਾਸਾ ॥ पूजि सिला तीरथ बन वासा ॥भरमत डोलत भए उदासा ॥ He worships stones, dwells at sacred shrines of pilgrimage and in the jungles, wanders, roams around and becomes a renunciate. ਮਨਿ ਮੈਲੈ ਸੂਚਾ ਕਿਉ ਹੋਇ ॥ਸਾਚਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਪਾਵੈ ਪਤਿ ਸੋਇ ॥੬॥ मनि मैलै सूचा किउ होइ ॥ साचि मिलै पावै पति सोइ ॥६॥ But his mind is still filthy - how can he become pure? One who meets the True Lord obtains honor. ||6|| ਆਚਾਰਾ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ ਸਰੀਰਿ ॥ਆਦਿ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਮਨੁ ਧੀਰਿ ॥ आचारा वीचारु सरीरि ॥आदि जुगादि सहजि मनु धीरि ॥ One who embodies good conduct and contemplative meditation, his mind abides in intuitive poise and contentment, since the beginning of time, and throughout the ages. ਪਲ ਪੰਕਜ ਮਹਿ ਕੋਟਿ ਉਧਾਰੇ ॥ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲਿ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥੭॥ पल पंकज महि कोटि उधारे ॥ करि किरपा गुरु मेलि पिआरे ॥७॥ In the twinkling of an eye, he saves millions. Have mercy on me, O my Beloved, and let me meet the Guru. ||7|| ਕਿਸੁ ਆਗੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੁਧੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ॥ਤੁਧੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਮੈ ਕੋ ਨਾਹੀ ॥ किसु आगै प्रभ तुधु सालाही ॥तुधु बिनु दूजा मै को नाही ॥ Unto whom, O God, should I praise You? Without You, there is no other at all. ਜਿਉ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਉ ਰਾਖੁ ਰਜਾਇ ॥ਨਾਨਕ ਸਹਜਿ ਭਾਇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ॥੮॥੨ जिउ तुधु भावै तिउ राखु रजाइ ॥ नानक सहजि भाइ गुण गाइ ॥८॥२॥ As it pleases You, keep me under Your Will. Nanak, with intuitive poise and natural love, sings Your Glorious Praises. ||8||2|| Regarding the above Sabad, would you say that Nanak Ji, Mahla Pehla, claims to be a Guru, Satguru? He clearly calls someone else “Satguru” ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਕਬੀਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੈਨ ਇਹਨਾ ਅਭਿਨਾਸੀ ਸਤ ਪੁਰਸ਼ਾ ਦਾ ਵਡਾਪਨ ਮ: ੫ ਜੀ ਵਰਨਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਨੇ ਕਿਉਕਿ ਇਹ ਆਪ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦੇ ਨੇ ਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਓਹੀ ਸਤਿਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਾਉਂਦੇ ਨੇ ਓਹੀ ਵਿਧੀ ਸਿਖਾਉਂਦੇ ਨੇ ਤੁਸੀ ਞੀ ਜਾਣ ਲਞੋ ਤਰੁੰਤ ਆਨੰਦ-ਦਾਇਕ ਪੂਰਾ ਲਾਭ ਮਿਲੇਗਾ ॥ Forget your own interests, your own longings, your own desires. You will attain the bliss of the Supreme Self. Empty your egoism. You will be filled with God. Lose your personality. You will find the Divine Life. You will realize God. God dwells in all beings as life and consciousness. Nanuk Vani which praise and pledge to follow Satguru Ruvdas’s teachings to the end. Nanuk Vani Adore, Admire, and praise Global, Universal, Gigantic Supreme Sahib Sachay Patshah Satguru Ruvdas, Kavir, Namdev and Sain the barber. They themselves chant, and inspire others to chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord. They are utterly All-Powerful; they carries us across to the other side. Immortals: Their name liveth for evermore. Still shine above others their prominence never diminishes.
