SALACIOUS SHADOW - Failing to find a sponsor for their proposed Shadow television series, Demby Productions, a producer of educational films and commercials, cobbled together two of the pilot episodes of a proposed television series based on famed radio and pulp magazine character, The Shadow, into a feature-length film and released it through Republic Pictures as INVISIBLE AVENGER (1958). Four years later, the film, which had been shot on location in New Orleans, resurfaced from indie MPA Pictures as BOURBON STREET SHADOWS. The running time was padded with ten minutes of additional footage and an advertising campaign of a more exploitable, suggestive nature which hardly mentions The Shadow.
