SALVATION IS THE STORY OF TWO LOVERS SPENDING TIME TOGETHER BECAUSE THEY LOVE EACH OTHER! . Today there is much confusion about salvation! There are many counterfeits that look and sound real. Two of them have to do with Gods Ten Commandment law - . (1) One chooses to believe that Gods law has been done away with and they find in the Bible what they consider evidence that God no longer requires obedience to His law. (True? or Counterfeit?) . (2) One choose to believe God law has never been done away with and only those who keep Gods law will be saved - They keep Gods law (and do a pretty good job of it) and therefore will be saved (True or Counterfeit?) Luke 18:10-14 . (3) One chooses to believe God law has never been done away with and they know they need help! They need forgiveness through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross of Calvary - They need Gods mercy, forgiveness, and they call upon God to do what He promises to do for them in Isaiah 1:18; Ezekiel 36:26; Jeremiah 31:33; 1John 1:7; 1:9, Hebrews 10:16) They are thankful for God’s great love and want and choose to spend time with Jesus studying His life- They spend time with Jesus because they love Him and because of their knowledge of their great need - Every day as they come Christ’s love melts into their cold hard hearts -- like putting ice in the sunshine. Let Ice SPEND enough time in the sunshine what happens? – It melts. It gets converted from hard cold ice to water. They choose to spend time calling upon Him to fill them daily with His Holy Spirit. They choose to spend time with Him by sharing what they have learned with others! (True or Counterfeit? Luke 18:13-14 . God loves you and sacrificed Himself for You by choosing to humble Himself that He might become a human baby, grow up as a boy and then as a man. He taught and healed everyone who asked for help – teaching them of God’s Great love and then allowing guilty man to spit on Him, mock Him, whip His back with 78 lashes and then willingly laid down on the cross and allowing guilty man to drive nails through His wrists and feet and then lift that cross and drop it into the hole prepared for it. Jesus, God in human flesh, could have gone free – angels were anxiously waiting for a command to set Him free but out of love for You He gave no such command and hung on the cross bearing your sins and mine. The weight of your sins and mine killed Him – not the cross itself. He cried out to the Father in heaven from the sorrow in His heart dying as though He would never live again. He did that for you. Salvation is all about LOVE if you love Him you will not find it difficult to spend time with Him and it is in the time you spend with Him that He converts your heart – giving you a new heart as you claim His promises and thus receive His power. . Of what will you be judged by in the judgment, now going on in heaven? by the Ten Commandment law God writes in our hearts - this is the New Covenant - the only one by which man can be saved. - Christ is speaking to you in every promise of His word. He says to you, “the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.” “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,” 1 John 1:7; 1:9 and Hebrews 10:16 – . When you really see what Jesus, your Creator, did for you at the cross and fall in love with Him – you love to spend time with Him – like two lovers who love spending time with each other. You talk to Him about all your troubles and all your joys – that is called prayer – prayer is just one lover talking to another and Jesus speaks back to you in every promise of His word. “So with all the promises of Gods word. In them He is speaking to us individually, speaking as directly as if we could listen to His voice. It is in these promises that Christ communicates to us His grace and power.” Ministry of Healing page 122. . You want power in your life learn His promises and accept them as His way of filling Your life with POWER and love. It’s His way of saving you and me. . The same power that Christ exercised when He walked visibly among men is in His word. It was by His word that Jesus healed disease and cast out demons; by His word He stilled the sea and raised the dead, and the people bore witness that His word was with power. He spoke the word of God, as He had spoken to all the prophets and teachers of the Old Testament. The whole Bible is a manifestation of Christ. Ministry of Healing page 122. . The Scriptures are to be received as God’s word to us, not written merely, but spoken. When the afflicted ones came to Christ, He beheld not only those who asked for help, but all who throughout the ages should come to Him in like need and with like faith. When He said to the paralytic, “Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee;” when He said to the woman of Capernaum, “Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace,” He spoke to other afflicted, sin-burdened ones who should seek His help.Matthew 9:2; Luke 8:48. It is in these promises that Christ communicates to us His grace and power. They are leaves from that tree which is “for the healing of the nations.” Revelation 22:2. Received, assimilated, they are to be the strength of the character, the inspiration and sustenance of the life. Nothing else can have such healing power. Nothing besides can impart the courage and faith which give vital energy to the whole being. Wherever the need of the Holy Spirit is a matter little thought of, there is seen spiritual drought, spiritual darkness, spiritual declension and death. Companies of Christian workers should gather to ask for special help, for heavenly wisdom, that they may know how to plan and execute wisely.” The secret to eternal life is answered in the question “Do you love me? Loving to spend time with Jesus results in POWER! POWER! POWER! . ‘It would be well for us to SPEND A THOUGHTFUL HOUR each day in contemplation of the life of Christ. We should take it point by point, and let the imagination grasp each scene, especially the closing ones. As we thus dwell upon His great sacrifice for us, our confidence in Him will be more constant, our love will be quickened, and we shall be more deeply imbued with His spirit. I have been amazed at all those I know whos lives have been changed by this book... including mine! I cant think of one book, besides the Bible, of course, that has brought more people into the remnant church than this one book. . So, as the personal ministries leader, I worked on a plan to get as many Great Controversy books as I could because we decided that, as long as it took us, we would get the book on every doorstep in Jefferson City, Missouri. We called around and ordered 3 cases from 3 different publishers. We brought it to the membership and asked them which edition to share around their town. They chose the one from Remnant Publications with the chess pieces over the world. We paid $1,436.20 total, which was only. This cost per book was about $.88 and included shipping that arrived in just a few days. The more you buy the more you save. . We have set aside the 3rd Sabbath of each month as distribution day. We purchased several thousand enrollment cards with the address area blank. We got a stamp from Staples (found a better deal on VistaPrint since then) that said: Amazing Facts, Free Bible Studies, and then our church address. We stamped each card and then each book, and then put a card in each book. We put the books in the door hanger bags and as many as would stay after fellowship lunch gathered for prayer as we prepare to go out. . We used google maps to narrow down on a neighborhood and could even count the houses on the streets for better planning. (My wife colporteured for 5 years - so she coordinated it). Watch out for duplexes and apartments... they could through you off, so scope out the place first. Anyway, we did this month after month (except during an evangelistic campaign). We are almost ready to order some more books again. It is amazing how many books you can hang on doors and set on steps with you have a small army of workers to help (especially the children!). We have received only a couple enrollment cards back so far, but we know that success in this project is not measured in baptisms, but in faithfulness in getting the word out. This summer has been hot, but praise God, this month they want to go out twice! No sacrifice is too great to spread the word of God. What about you friends?
