SAMBURULEAKS UPDATE... The forgotten story and the plight of the Turkana women in LOIKAS village of Maralal is like a silent epidemic. The women and children lives are now put on line as the only source of livelihood, the maralal slaughter house was taken away by the powers and intrigue. Its now clear that the women working there are samburu and no one from Loikas is seen there. This suffering started after the killing of the late Tom Kish ,rest in peace. The poor women depend on firewood,charcoal and some manual labour in town. So many economic sanctions are too pressing ,ranging from harsh forest rangers,high animal prices for them,low charcoal prices in town,deliberate firing of Turkana house girls and an eclipse that never recedes by the Moses kasaines government. Even if the Turkana are bandits, took the county gov to court , the women and children remain innocent and highly vulnerable. We are therefore asking the gov to revisit this issue again. You can not punish a whole people just because Ekuru Aukot and other leaders came to maralal and thereafter continued their assault thru media. Turkanas are people and their lives are equally important like everyone else. 2017 ni sasa.
