SAN IGNACIO Trio caught with uncustomed smokes On the 17.09.13, at about 7:30pm police searched a white Nissan four door car (without License plate only bearing “TAXI” written on the rear bumper with yellow marking) in front of the Uno Gas Station, George Price Highway, San Ignacio Town. Upon opening the trunk of the car they found a large plastic bag which contained a variety of cigarette cartons. They all were informed of the offence committed and both the vehicle and the occupants were escorted to the San Ignacio police station. At the police station their names were learnt to be Carlos Gomez (45yrs D.O.B:5/10/67 Belizean Taxi driver), Wilfrida Gomez (35yrs D.O.B:21/9/78 Belizean domestic both of E street Benque Viejo Town) and Eva Menendez (40yrs Dob 10/6/74 Guatemalan domestic of Melchor de Mencos, Guatemala). The cigarettes were checked in their presence and are as follows (50) cartons of Gem Virginia Blend, (15) cartons Benson and Hedges, (6) cartons Richman Royal Menthol and (1) carton Vogue Blue cigarettes. All three occupants were detained at the San Ignacio Police Station.
