SANCTIFICATION: “For observe this very thing, that you sorrowed - TopicsExpress

SANCTIFICATION: “For observe this very thing, that you sorrowed in a godly manner: What diligence it produced in you, what clearing of yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what vehement desire, what zeal, what vindication! In all things you proved yourselves to be clear in this matter.” 2 Qorintiym (Corinthians) 7:11 The definition of sanctification is literally, "to set apart for special use or purpose", or "to make holy or sacred". We as true believers are being molded and groomed for holiness that we may be properly equipped for His purposes in accordance with His Will. Does this mean we are perfect and sinless? Certainly not! It means that we are works in progress and held to His accountability. We have been set apart as ambassadors of YaHuW’shuwa ha’Mashiyach (Jesus Christ) and therefore are held to a higher standard and this we must take very seriously, especially nowadays. This means that our Elohiym (God) specifically picked us as His children to shine His light into dark places. If we have no light; darkness increases. The mega-church movements at this time don’t seem to understand that preaching repentance is vital to being set apart and being used by Elohiym. In the book of Ibriym (Hebrews) (4:12-13) we read, “For the word of Elohiym is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.” The difference between someone who merely believes and someone who lives for the Lord is evident in how they live, how they speak, and how they think. The main characteristic of someone who is sanctified can be found in Ya’aqob (James) 1:21-22, “Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” Amen?
